What is a Hybrid Water Softener?
A hybrid water softener combines a whole-house water filter with a high-efficiency softener. Every tap in your home provides soft, filtered, bottled water quality. That means you'll not only protect your pipes and appliances, but you'll also get cleaner, better-tasting water. With one equipment, you may also perform the working of two water systems. This translates to less upkeep, less space, and reduced costs. Because it is designed to eliminate or lessen the chlorine, chemicals, pesticides, tastes, and odors that are commonly associated with city water, a hybrid water softener is for municipal water.
A conventional water softener and a hybrid water softener both contain an ion-exchange resin tank that removes hardness from the water, but a regular water softener does not have a second chamber with carbon to eliminate tastes, smells, chlorine, and chemicals. This second chamber sits above the resin and separates the resin from the carbon.
This accomplishes two goals:
(1) It keeps the carbon in one chamber, preventing it from mixing with the resin, making it denser and better able to filter chlorine and chemicals; and
(2) By removing the chlorine before the resin, the resin's life is dramatically extended, as resin is sensitive to chlorine and easily degraded in its presence. As a result, eliminating chlorine before it reaches the softening resin can extend the life of your water softener by up to two times. That alone should be incentive enough to invest in a hybrid water softener, if only to ensure that your water softener lasts twice as long.
Let’s take a look at what you can expect a hybrid water system to do-
>Every tap has filtered water.
Hybrid Water Softener can be adjusted to address a variety of water issues. To improve taste and smell, a popular "city water version" employs carbon filtration.Carbon water filters can also remove the following contaminants:
-Chlorine, ammonia, and other disinfectants are commonly used.
-Byproducts of disinfection, such as halo acetic acids
-Vinyl chloride, for example, is a volatile organic compound.
-Herbicides, insecticides, and a variety of medications are just a few examples.
In Cities, chlorine is used in every city water system. Removing chlorine from your water improves its quality and has various advantages:
>Whole House Chlorine Filter Benefits
-Better smelling and tasting water
-Helps dry, sensitive skin and hair
-Protects appliances and plumbing fixtures
-Extends life of water softener
Your water softener will last up to twice as long if the chlorine is removed before it reaches the softening resin. That alone should be incentive enough to invest in a hybrid water softener, if only to ensure that your water softener lasts twice as long. However, there is a much greater reason. What chlorine does to YOU is the explanation for this. It's your body and your responsibility to safeguard it. A small step of installing a water softener can encourage lives.
