What is a commercial water softener?
Commercial water softeners treat hard water, which can put precipitates in industrial plants, boilers, and other heating and cooling systems, by removing excess minerals in the water and replacing it with salt. There are many types of water softeners, the most common being salt-based ion exchangers.
This water softener consists of two parts:
Brine tank where salt is stored and mixed with water to form a brine solution. Water flows at high speed to dirt and debris from calcium, magnesium, iron and water. A counter that measures the amount of water used by the system is attached to the control valve. As soon as the resin tank can no longer soften the water, the resin tank needs to be regenerated. As groundwater flows through the pipes, the dissolved minerals combine with heat, leaving lime and deposits that damage your pipes, appliances and accessories.
When water falls like rain, it is pure and lacks minerals and is thus a soft water. As it flows through the soil, it collects minerals such as calcium and magnesium along the way. Water that collects a lot of minerals is classified as hard water. Hard water is not harmful to your health, but it is harmful to your home.
A water softener works to treat hard water by removing the minerals dissolved in water through a process called ion-exchange. Mineral ions that cause hardness and damage are trapped by resin within the system and exchanged for sodium and potassium ions.
There are many important factors to running a business. Employee management, salary, budgetand forecasting are some of the most important factors. It may be just as important, but one thing that is often overlooked is water. In some facilities, water is used only for drinking and appliances. For others, it is an integral part of their business and production.
This are some of the most common examples where commercial or industrial companies need a water softener or water treatment system. All businesses benefit from installing a commercial water softener. Even if water isn`t an essential part of business operations.
Water softener for office buildings and shopping centres:
In India almost everywhere hard water is found. That means there are varying levels of calcium and magnesium running through your company`s plumbing and waterusing appliances.
Most companies have at least a few waterusing appliances like a refrigerator, washer, or dishwasher. Due to high levels of calcium and magnesium, many types of equipment fail to work properly, which can lead to an increase in energy costs and/or complete failure of the equipment.
It doesn`t matter if it is a small business or a large commercial or industrial plant, a properly sized water softener can keep your appliances and equipment running efficiently. The basicdifference between a water softener used in a commercial application and other one used in a residential setting is its size and how frequently it regenerates.
During regeneration, soft water is not available, so in commercial applications, it is essential that the unit is sized appropriately to the amount of water the organization uses in a day. Generally, a regeneration cycle will take place at night, when soft water isn`t needed. However, in some commercial applications, soft water may be required 24 hours a day so there may be multiple water softener units in place, so while one is regenerating, another can soften the water. You can generally wire together four individual water softeners into one overall water softening system. Some factories may use multiple water softener systems to process all the water they are using per day.
Water softener is essential for shopping centres and office buildings for air conditioning and all.
