1: Coagulation
The first step in the process when water enters a treatment facility is coagulation, where chemicals are added to the water supply to make it easier for micro particles, and small solids to clump together. 3: Sedimentation

Cleaner water is now left for the treatment plant's further processing. The sediments accumulate as a sludge layer at the tank's bottom, which is eventually removed and recycled on the ground.
4: Disinfection
Chlorine is added to the water during the disinfection water treatment stage, after the cleared water exits the sedimentation basins in the treatment plant.
Following the treatment of wastewater with chlorine, ammonia develops, creating chloramine. To finish the disinfection process, this water that has been treated with chloramine is sent through one more set of basins.
5: Adjustment of pH
The water passes through a pH treatment stage after the disinfection stage. By modifying the pH, lime or calcium oxide makes water less acidic.
Additionally, it is not as harmful to household water pipes. To keep the lime dissolved, a polyphosphate solution is also added to the water at this point.
6: Filtration
In the end, quick gravity filters are used to filter the water. This kind of filter frequently employs sand, which clears the water of any further dirt or particles.
In the last step, water is passed through a filter. Clean water is delivered into the public supply, while particles are trapped by the filter. Pipelines are used by pumping stations to transport water to home users.
