 Mixed Bed (MB) Water Treatment Plant

The cation-exchange and anion-exchange resins are intimately combined and enclosed in a single pressure vessel in Mixed-Bed deionizers. A mixed-bed deionizer is equal to a long sequence of two-bed plants due to the full mixing of cation-exchangers and anion-exchangers in a single column. As a result, the water quality produced by a mixed-bed deionizer is significantly superior to that of a two-bed machine. Mixed-bed plants are more susceptible to pollutants in the water supply and have a more difficult regeneration process, despite being more efficient in filtering the incoming feed water.After the Water has been treated by either a two-bed deionizer or a reverse osmosis unit, mixed-bed deionizers are typically used to 'polish' it to greater degrees of purity.

The strong acid cation and strong base anion resins are mixed together in a mixed bed system. This effectively transforms the mixed bed tank into a tank with thousands of dual bed units. Within the resin bed, the cation / anion exchange occurs repeatedly. Because of the large number of cation/anion exchanges that occurs, sodium leakage is addressed. You may generate the highest quality deionized water possible by employing a mixed bed.

HOW IONS ARE MEASURED?

Ions are charged particles that conduct electricity. Ions act as stepping stones for electrical current as it travels through water. As a result, we may determine the ionic concentration of water by measuring its electrical conductivity. The flow of electricity will be more difficult if there are fewer ions in the water. As a result, water with a lower conductivity value is deemed "deionized" in comparison to water with a higher conductivity value.

MIXED BED (MB) WATER TREATMENT PLANT: WORKING PRINCIPAL

For treated boiler water, a mixed bed deionizer is an essential piece of water treatment equipment for any industry. Where water quality of less than 1 micro-ohm conductivity is required, a mix bed deionizer or mixed bed polisher is often installed. The Mix Bed Deionizer is a single-shell unit that contains a mixture of strongly acidic and strongly basic cations in the right ratio. Strong acid cation (SAC) resin and strong base anion (SAB) resin are blended in a ratio of roughly 40% cation resin and 60% SBA resin in mixed bed shells.A mixed bed deionizer polishes water that has been previously treated by a two-bed deionizer or a reverse osmosis unit to a higher purity level. After passing water through cation and anion exchangers, the water is interned into a mix bed unit, which has both resin and effluent water that comes into contact with the sound of the cation/anion exchangers, resulting in good water quality in the output. When back wash is performed via the resin bed, it has a rubber lining inside that provides a good room for resin expansion.
