What are sludge collectors?
Sludge collectors perform efficient collection of settled sludge and flocculated materials, with a variety of designs. Chain and flight suction, and many additional sludge collector systems are available, from Netsol Water to meet your needs. We have expertise in a variety of demanding applications, including water and wastewater treatment, refineries, power plants, and steel mills.
Uses for Sludge Collectors
· Solids collecting in the sedimentation basin
· Treatment of potable water
· Treatment of groundwater and surface water
· Treatment of process water used in industry
Advantages of sludge collectors
1: In comparison to flexible hose collectors or fixed grid collectors, our sludge collector is a more effective design for collecting settled particles from sedimentation basins.
2: The Sludge Collector uses only rigid pipe, which prevents problems with air pocketing, ripping, collapsing, and tangling. Additionally, compared to fixed grid collectors and chain and flight collectors, which produce lower solids concentrations and demand more dewatering, it more effectively catches the fluidized sludge.
3: It decreases the amount of time sludge must travel before being evacuated from the tank. Once sludge is collected, there is no in-pipe baffling or interference.
4: It decreases the likelihood of blockage and enhances sludge flow.
For the purpose of treating potable water, our Sludge Collectors are ideal. If your plant requires a more effective settled solids removal system, the unit can also be offered individually.
Design of a Sludge Collector
1: The hydraulic pressure suction collector with stainless steel structure is triggered by a gravity head or a pump.
2: Articulating sludge discharge pipes replace bulky hoses, which are inefficient.
3: Consistently, orifices on the collection header draw from the sludge blanket.
4: Smooth header movement along the tank bottom is guaranteed by a dual-reel positioning drive and cable system.
5: No lubricants or electrical parts submerged in water are necessary.
Flight and Chain Collectors
For the most demanding applications, such as ash handling, cullet dewatering, refineries, power plants, steel mills, chemical plants, and other heavy duty applications, our technical team has over 10 years of experience designing, building, and running chain and flight conveyor systems. The highest industry standards are followed in the construction of the chain and flight collectors, to ensure quality and successful long-term operation.
We will consider the following factors to determine the ideal design for each specific application:
· Flow speed
· Sludge transport
· Conveyor velocity
· Torque specifications
· Flight capability
· Supporting components
· Components used in construction
· Maintenance obligations
· Control specifications, among many other things
Chain and flight collectors are available from Netsol in a range of materials, including:
· Stainless steel
· Unique alloys
· Non-metallic (FRP, polymer, etc.)
Alternative Designs for Sludge Collectors
For particular uses, we also provide additional sludge collector designs, such as:
· The mechanical agitators and screw augers
· Scrub rakes
· Mud valves, among other things
