Design of a Spiral Tube Mist Collector
The primary mist removal step of the two-stage Spiral Tube Mist Collector does not require filter media. The spiral tubes allow a high level of mist aggregation and removal without employing filters. The method for removing mist is provided by centrifugal force and impaction.
A fluid film is produced as the contaminated air is accelerated down multiple spiral-shaped impaction tubes. Oil runs off into the bottom of the collector. The second stage HEPA type filter, which is normally rated at a minimum 95% efficiency at 0.3 micron particle size, is where the air changes direction 180 degrees.
It is ideal for use with water-soluble, synthetic, or mineral coolants during productionoperations.
Elimination of Mist & Oil Re-Entrainment
After the main stage, the cleansed air won't re-entrain the pollutants that were collected, because of the mist collector's distinctive internal architecture. This increases the separation process' effectiveness, and increases the lifespan of the optional final filters.
