Water stains may not be a big deal when compared to rust, sap, tar and other chemicals that pollute car paint, but in reality they are just as harmful, if not more. As you may not know, water is full of pollutants and debris and can damage your vehicle very easily.
Learn how water stains appear, how to prevent them, and how to get rid of existing stains!
Simply put, when the debris dries in the water droplets on the surface of the car, it creates scale. The type depends on the contents of the water and the drying method. The three different types of watermarks are:
1-Hard Watermarks:
These are the most common types of watermarks and are sometimes referred to as "hard watermarks". Hard water stains are deposits of minerals and stains that accumulate in car paint. It may occur if tap water rich in natural minerals is left on the surface of a car for a long time. This happens if the car is hosed and then not completely dried, or if the parked car is repeatedly sprayed by a nearby sprinkler system. When it dries, it becomes a dry chalky substance that is difficult to remove.
2-Bonded Minerals:
Bonded mineral water stains are slightly stronger than hard water stains. Sticky mineral water stains are caused by water droplets that are difficult to remove due to their high mineral concentration. Minerals combine with the surface of the car and can even attack the clear coat of the car's paint. It may leave small stains or the paint on the car may look dull even after it has been removed. Bound mineral water stains are most commonly caused by acid rain with high levels of nitric acid and sulfuric acid.
3-Etching:
Corrosive watermarks occur when water droplets from the sun dry on a car. They are essentially "burned" to the surface of your car. Water stains are the most difficult to remove and can cause serious and permanent damage to your vehicle if handled improperly.
How do I get rid of the Water spots?
The difficulty of removing water stains varies greatly. Sometimes all you need to do is drive your car through a good cleaning facility. I would like to emphasize that you should go to a professional car wash instead of washing your own car.

And if you come out of the car wash and notice that the dirt is still there, ask our professional details staff! They will be able to tell you exactly what kind of water stains they are and how to get rid of them. Asking for the help of an expert is always the best answer when taking care of your car. The most stubborn water stains may require water polishing.
